Andorra Phone Code: How to Call Andorra from Abroad or from Andorra
Codes, useful numbers and roaming, so your trip is fully in hand
The country code for Andorra is +376, which you can also dial as 00 376. Below you will find how to call the Principality from abroad, how to call other countries from Andorra, the emergency numbers and what to check about roaming before you travel.
Calling Andorra from abroad
A well-prepared stay begins with having the right contacts to hand. There is plenty of information online, but a phone call is still the quickest way to settle a specific question and receive a personal answer.
To call Andorra from Spain (or any other country), dial 00 376 (or +376), the country code, followed by the number you want to reach. Andorran numbers have 6 digits: they start with “8” or “7” for landlines, “3” for contract mobiles and “6” for prepaid mobiles.
These are the phone numbers of Andorra’s main tourist offices, whose staff can advise you on destinations and routes within the Principality:
- Andorra la Vella: +376 730 003
- Canillo: +376 851 002
- Encamp: +376 731 000
- Escaldes-Engordany: +376 820 963
- La Massana: +376 835 693
- Ordino: +376 737 080
- Sant Julià de Lòria: +376 844 345
In winter, Andorra’s high season, it is particularly useful to know the state of the ski slopes before setting out. For information, you can call this number:
- Ski Andorra: +376 864 389
Calling from Andorra
Once you have arrived, you will naturally want to stay in touch with your family or deal with a work matter without it interrupting your days in the mountains.
To call another country from Andorra, dial the international prefix (00), followed by the country code (for example, Spain is 34, France is 33, Portugal is 351…) and then the phone number. The same procedure applies if the phone you are calling is Spanish, or from any other country, even if it happens to be inside Andorra at the time.
If you are in the Principality and calling an Andorran number, you do not need to dial any prefix: the 6 digits of the number are enough.
It is also wise to keep the emergency numbers in Andorra close at hand. Bear in mind that the 3-digit emergency numbers can only be dialled from inside Andorra; from abroad, your operator will not recognise them.
- Police: 110
- Fire brigade: 118
- Medical emergencies: 116
- General emergencies: 112
- Andorran Red Cross: (00376) 825 225
- Hospital “Nostra Sra. de Meritxell”: (00376) 871 000
- Traveller service: (00376) 871 005
The police can also be reached on +376 872 000, and 24-hour roadside assistance on +376 1802 1802, a number worth saving if you are driving over the mountain passes in winter.
Roaming in Andorra
Although Andorra lies on the European continent, it is outside free EU roaming and is charged separately, as is the case in Switzerland, for example. So if you want to use your mobile as usual, speak to your phone company and ask them to activate it before you travel.
Having data in Andorra brings peace of mind. It lets you share images of your trip straight away, without waiting to connect to the Wi-Fi back at the hotel, and above all it keeps you contactable as you move around.
It is also a matter of safety. If you lose your bearings on the road, you can open Google Maps; if something unexpected happens on a mountain excursion, you can turn on geolocation.
Check your operator’s conditions before you travel. Another option is Andorra Telecom’s prepaid eSIM, at €10 or €20, and on Av. Carlemany and Av. Meritxell you will find the public Andorra Wi-Fi network.
If you are coming to ski in Grandvalira, add these numbers to your contacts before heading up to the slopes. To plan your stay at Hotel Grau Roig, featured in the MICHELIN Guide, see also things to do in Andorra and the hotel’s restaurants.
